SciFi and Fantasy Art: The leaves were long, the grass was green

The leaves were long, the grass was green
The hemlock-umbels tall and fair
And in the glade a light was seen
Of stars in shadow shimmering
Tinuviel was dancing there
To music of a pipe unseen
And light of stars was in her hair
And in her rainment glimmering

From the 'Fellowship of The Ring' bt JRR Tolkien

I love it, you've caught Tinuviel perfectly.
Tolkien would have loved it.

I don't really think anyone can capture Luthien perfectly, but I'm glad you like it.

o.O

*is a huge Tolkien, Lewis, Pratchett fan*

WOW!!!

This is JUST HOW I IMAGINED IT TO BE. *gets pulled into Doriath and does a feeble impression of Tinuviel*

But as she went he swiftly came
and called her with the tender name
of nightingales in elvish tongue,
that all the woods now sudden rung:
‘Tinúviel! Tinúviel!’
And clear his voice was as a bell;
its echoes wove a binding spell:
‘Tinúviel! Tinúviel!’

This song almost every times makes me cry. And your picture fits in soooo good! I'd really like you to make one of their first kiss! Thank you! I think I've done too many pictures of Luthien already, though I may do one of Thingol and Melian. 2

Yeah, i've been lookin at your work, and i've been commenting like mad, but it's great! This one really draws you in, makes me laugh because it's so cool, right out of the song. Great stuff, really great. Thank you! I hope that I'll be able to preserve this impression and the immediacy if I will try to re-work this picture in better quality.
